Style and fashion have been a creative source of inspiration for me for as long as I can remember. I have always loved going to an event and putting together a new outfit, experimenting with the latest fashion trends, getting caught up in new silhouettes, fabrics, prints and colours.

As a British Born South Asian woman I find myself so fortunate to have a beautiful blend of cultures helping to shape my personal identity. But I found growing up with two opposing traditions really challenging to understand. I didn’t know where I fit in, too scared to stand out, too timid to forge my own path, too ashamed to admit it.

With a BSc Honours Degree in Business and Management and after working in numerous corporate roles throughout my twenties I learnt fundamental skills and gained extensive experience in areas including, marketing, digital marketing, merchandising and ecommerce.

But for me there was always something missing, no real sense of purpose and a deep feeling of not belonging. The corporate world along with my degree did however give me the practical business knowledge and experience I would later come to rely on.

Upon entering my thirties you could say I went on a journey to ‘find myself’. Life brought along some tough challenges, moments of deep anxiety, low levels of depression and life long lessons and learnings. And through this deep inner journey, Neelam Personal Stylist grew into something I only could have dreamed of as a young girl. I truly believe that everything happens in divine timing.

I was determined to build a business where the profits were not the driving force. I wanted to work with others like me to help them grow in inner and outer confidence through understanding their true identity and how to reflect this through their personal style.

During the 2020 lockdown I completed my training with the Style Coaching Institute® as a professional Style Coach™ and Personal Stylist. Along with this I became the Fashion Editor for Eastern Eye, Britain’s best known and most respected Asian weekly newspaper with national coverage. My professional training, experience with Eastern Eye and further courses and training to follow equipped me with the knowledge and tools I needed to take my passion and love for style and fashion and move it forward into a business with true impact as a Personal Stylist.

And along this journey, my offerings began to evolve as I started to work with brands in exciting spaces like fashion, beauty and wellness. I blended my love for creativity with my previous experience within the marketing and ecommerce spaces to begin consulting with brands on their creative campaigns. From organising photoshoots, to getting hands on with creative direction and on-set styling, to bringing campaigns to life through words that connect with the intended audience. I love to support brands in bringing their visions to life.

Identity has come to mean a huge amount to me. Understanding my heritage, my culture, my beautiful blend of influences and the true beauty of being a woman, forms the basis of how I work with both my personal styling and creative consultancy clients. Whether you are looking to become your most confident self through your personal style or creatively connect with your audience, I’m ready to embrace your unique story and journey. I truly believe the gift of creativity and expression can be life changing.

I often see women struggling to understand what works well for them, how to dress in a way that really represents who they are, and often becoming distracted by the latest fashion trends, ending up with a wardrobe full of clothes yet nothing to wear! I am here to help with all of that. To help you grow in body confidence, find your unique style personality and, most importantly, to have fun while doing it!

I’ve come across so many new brands really working to make an impact in the world and these are the kind of brands that I resonate with. Because that is exactly what I am hoping to do with this community I am building here. When I work with a brand it’s so important for me that our values align so that I can bring my full self to any project.

I hope this gives you a closer glimpse into me, my journey and how I work. A Style Coach™ works with you holistically combining skills from both Life Coaching and Personal Styling to deliver a service that appreciates the connection between the inner and outer self. Style Coaching™ is all about the bigger picture; helping you work on your personal style but also coaching you to inner confidence.
